Things to do in Tampa Bay this Weekend (8-21-20)

TAMPA, Fla.,

It’s Friday! We’re ready for the weekend and we hope you are too. We have another weekend’s worth of activities, recipes, TV shows, and movies to help you wind down.

Rainy weather continues this weekend for both Tampa and Fayetteville with chances of thunderstorms in both cities. This week’s Tech Talk guides you through the art of screenshotting. Check out the helpful tips for both Mac and PC computers!

Weekend Activities

Our do-it-yourself activities for this week include 15 ways to make a shadowbox. These crafty techniques will help you display anything from awards to baby clothes. A perfect activity that the kids will love too. On Saturday, you can join a virtual class and learn how to make your very own herbal cocktails. This free event teaches you the processes of infusing your own liquors and aromatic bitters. Sign up today! Lastly, learn how to make all-natural food dyes from ingredients like sweet potato, spinach, and raspberries. Fun, colorful, and good for you!

Tasty Recipes

This week’s recipes include a delicious, classic Chicken Piccata. This Italian staple is perfect to satisfy those weekend cravings and pairs best with pasta and white wine. Our cocktail of the week takes inspiration from Kentucky for a refreshing Mint Julep. While we’re not at the Derby just yet, this delicious drink is bound to make you feel like you’re there. For dessert, try a decadent Lemon and Raspberry Pound Cake that’s rich and moist. The best (and tastiest) way to wrap up your week!

TV and Movies

If you’re looking for movies and TV shows to watch this weekend, look no further! Mrs. America on Hulu tells the story of the movement to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) and the backlash against its opponent, Phyllis Schlafly. An American Pickle on HBO stars Seth Rogan in a hilarious tale of a 20th century man who transports to the modern world. For more great finds, check out our full list of programs in the Weekender.

Once again, we hope you have a safe and happy weekend. Follow us on LinkedIn and like us on Facebook for more access to our weekly wrap ups. Happy Friday and we’ll see you back on Monday!
